What is stuffing
Stuffing, sometimes called dressing, is a classic side dish traditionally served alongside poultry, especially during the holidays. It is made by combining bread, often cubed or pre-packaged, with flavorful ingredients like sautéed vegetables, herbs, broth, and sometimes meat or nuts. As it cooks, the bread absorbs the liquid and seasonings, creating a savory, moist dish that is the perfect complement to turkey or chicken. While homemade stuffing is common, pre-seasoned mixes like Pepperidge Farm Herb-Seasoned Stuffing offer a convenient shortcut without sacrificing flavor, making it easy to enjoy this comfort food any time.
Tim's Tip: For perfect stuffing every time, add the broth gradually and stir gently. This keeps it fluffy, flavorful, and prevents it from turning soggy.
Ingredients

- Pepperidge Farm Stuffing Mix - I suggest using the Pepperidge Farm Herb Seasoned Stuffing Mix for the perfect flavor combo. It's a classic stuffing mix seasoned with salt, carrots, celery salt, rosemary, and more.
- Broth - Chicken broth or turkey broth will work for this recipe.
- Onion - Stick with a yellow onion or white onion to not throw off the color of the dish. A red onion will give it a funky color. Shallots also work great!
- Butter - Butter will add lots of richness and flavor. Use salted butter for this recipe.
- Celery - Combining celery with carrots and onion makes a mirepoix, which is a foundational combination in soups, stews, and casseroles.
- Carrots - Provide a good, balanced flavor and pop of color we all love to see in holiday dishes.
- Garlic Cloves - These will be minced and sautéed to add flavor to the stuffing.

Frequently Asked Questions
You can be creative here. I have added apples and toasted pecans to add a fun seasonal crunch.
You can find Pepperidge Farm Stuffing mix at any major grocery store. Check the pantry or canned goods aisle. You can also order here!
The main difference is that the Pepperidge Farm Corn Bread Stuffing has a cornmeal base. Both are seasoned with herbs like celery and onion powder, but the base grain definitely gives a distinct flavor. The Herb Seasoned Stuffing has a more traditional, savory flavor!
The Pepperidge Farm Cubes Stuffing is a larger bread cube than the much smaller ones in the Classic Stuffing mix. They will hold their shape a little better and could have potential for a crispy exterior. The choice is up to you; my family has just always preferred the Classic Pepperidge Farm Stuffing Mix.
