The easiest to make Crock Pot Country Style Green Beans recipe is finally here! These are green beans that non green bean eaters will love! These are staple at our table around the holidays, but they can be made all year around for large gatherings. With it being an easy "set it and forget it" side dish, you'll have more time to spend on the rest of the meal or just visiting with your guests.
Limited Tools Needed!
The only prepping needed for this meal is chopping two ingredients and sautéing onions. It really is THAT easy! While we're at it...some people want to make it easier by not sautéing, but don't skip this! It really does make all the difference in the world. Put that bacon grease to work!
Frozen or Nah?
I typically use frozen green beans because we buy them ahead of time and can keep them in the freezer until ready. I found these particular ones on sale at Kroger. Keep in mind that the frozen green beans give off water as they cook. If using fresh, you may need to add small amounts of water throughout the cooking process.
Need a healthier option?
Instead of using bacon grease to sauté your onion, use avocado oil or oil of your choice. The Bacon Up was used to simply elevate the bacon flavor.

Frequently Asked Questions:
I have done this in a pinch. If you are using canned green beans, make sure to pour the storage liquid off the beans and rinse them twice with fresh water. Trust me, you will thank me later. WHY? Because it removes that metallic canned flavor profile left behind.
Yes, if you do not have all day, you can cook them on high for closer to 5 hours. This is one item that the longer it cooks, the better.
I like to make this vegetarian using olive oil to saute the onions. So you would omit the bacon and bacon grease. I have also added some fresh garlic for flavor with the onions if going vegetarian.
