Filling, hearty, flavorful, crispy - there are just a few words to describe how delicious my Bacon and Turkey Cabbage Rolls are. These are as versatile as they are flavorful. Serve them as an appetizer, dinner, or lunch!

Tips for Bacon and Turkey Cabbage Roll Success:
- Make sure your peppers, onions, and carrots are about the same size. This will ensure they cook evenly. You also want to make sure they aren't chopped too big! These will be mixed with the meat to be rolled in cabbage rolls. If the mixture is too bulky, it will be difficult to roll.
- Ground chicken would work here as well. I wouldn't use pork or beef though. They tend to have higher fat content and this dish could become too greasy pretty fast.
- These can be pan fried in oil or in a deep fryer - the main goals are that the center gets to a proper cooked temperature and the outside doesn't get burnt while trying to do so.

Bacon and Turkey Cabbage Roll

- 1 Frying Pan
Ingredients
- 1 lb Ground Turkey
- 1 ea Carrot Medium, shredded
- 1 ea Bell Pepper Diced
- 1 ea Red Onion Diced
- 6 ea Strips Bacon
- 1 ea Head Cabbage
- 1 cup All Purpose Flour
- 3 ea Eggs
- 2 cup Panko Breadcrunbs
- 2 teaspoon Salt
- 1 ½ teaspoon Black Pepper
- 1 ½ teaspoon Garlic Powder
- 1 ½ teaspoon Chili Powder
- 1 teaspoon Paprika
- 4 cups Vegetable Oil For frying
Instructions
- Start by cooking bacon in skillet until crispy then remove.
- Chop your pepper and onion and shred your carrots so they cook evenly.
- Add vegetables to same skillet where you cooked the bacon.
- Season your ground turkey with 2 tablespoon of seasoning and add to cooked vegetables and once veggies and turkey are cooked remove from skillet and re-season.
- Remove 12-15 cabbage pieces and boil them for 4-5 minutes over a low boil. Remove and then pat dry.
- Fill each cabbage with 2 tablespoon of the meat and veggie filling and roll them up just like a tortilla.
- In separate bowl add flour, egg, and panko breadcrumbs. Dipping and coating the roll in each one coating very well so the breading sticks perfectly.
- Fry them at 350°F for 3 ½ to 4 minutes or until it gets to a golden-brown color.
- Time to serve!
